Jordan’s Christening Photography

When I received a phone call from Elizabeth enquiring what my availabilities were for her son’s christening, she was so lovely. She briefly described what her plans were going to be for the day and it sounded stunning! I happily booked in the day and was already beginning to look forward to it.

The day arrived and I headed to their family home. I was so excited to meet Jordan, the little man of the hour. He looked adorable; his hair was perfectly coiffed and he wore a little bow tie with suspenders. I began with a session of him with his slightly older sister, Alessia. They are both gorgeous kids and the bond between them is clearly so special. They were both dressed to the nines for the day and I captured some cute shots of them lovingly playing together.

It was then time for family photos with the rest of the family. Jordan’s first birthday was the day before and it was his dad’s birthday on the day of the christening, which made it extra special. The four of them are all so stunning and they were a joy to photograph. Liz organised some exquisite details for the special occasion, which I also took photos of. This included a customised candle and invitations by Labelle Creative.

Shortly after, we headed to St Peter Chanel Church. The atmosphere was bustling with excitement for the event ahead. Plenty of friends and family had gathered to be a part of the day. Jordan was fast asleep as we stepped into the church, his face softly pressed onto Liz’s shoulder. He looked so peaceful in his mother’s arms as she greeted happily everyone.

Jordan, along with a handful of other little kids, were baptised in front of proud friends and family. It felt very special; they all watched on with smiles on their faces. It was lovely to see how many people were there in support of this special event. Once it was over, everyone headed off to the reception to celebrate and visit each other.

Once we arrived at Roselyn Court in Essendon, drinks and canapés were served. It was set in gorgeous gardens; the warm weather was perfect for an outdoor setting. I soaked in the atmosphere and took candid shots of everyone enjoying themselves. All of the children were so adorable and were naturals in front of my camera!

As guests enjoyed drinks in the garden, I was able to get some shots of the stunning details inside. The dessert table was supplied by GLAM Wonderland, which was topped with cookies by Bonberri and macarons by Celeste Macarons. An amazing cake was on display atop a gold platter; it looked like a work of art! The area looked exquisite; blue, white and gold balloons adorned the area.

As everyone streamed in for their meal, people gasped in delight at how much thought was put into this special day. A play station had even been set up for the many children there. Once everyone was seated, a lovely speech was shared and the whole family stood at the front of the room to cut the cake.

After this, the five of us headed back into the gardens to get some more family shots. We got some lovely photographs amongst the greenery beneath an archway. The whole family was glowing with happiness and it was wonderful to see. I’m sure these images will be cherished for years to come.

I would just like to extend a warm thank you to Liz for having me as her photographer on this occasion. It was such a fabulous day and I’m grateful to have been a part of it. You have such a stunning little family and I look forward to working with you again in the near future.

All the best,
M xx
