In early February, I was privileged to capture photographs of Jessica and Aaron’s wedding. It was a gorgeous day that began at Aaron’s lovely family home in Yarrambat, where I met him and the groomsmen as they prepared for the day. From there, I met with Jessica, the beautiful bride, and her bridesmaids at Urban Escape Hair in Prahran.
The ceremony and reception was taking place at Butleigh Wootton in Kew. The building had huge windows where the sun poured in and a grand winding staircase. Once we arrived there, Jessica put on her delicate, lacy wedding dress. I was taken aback by how calm and relaxed she seemed as she waited to be married.
Aaron, on the other hand, waited anxiously at the marquee and was very emotional once the ceremony began. Their friend sang a song as the wedding party began making their way to the front; her voice was amazing and made the atmosphere even more magical. As Jessica’s mother and father walked her down the aisle, her very-soon-to-be husband had tears rolling down his face.
Following the touching ceremony, everyone was invited to the gardens for family photos and one big group shot, which perfectly captured the happiness in the air. From here, the bridal party had shots taken on the winding staircase in the venue. In a limited time, we were able to capture some great images.
There was a contagious buzz in the reception area as the speeches kicked off. Heartfelt words were shared by both the father of the bride and father of the groom, who were both elated to see the two finally married. The father-daughter dance was very sweet.
The bride and groom had been taking dancing lessons and they certainly paid off! They wowed the crowd with lifts and poses during one of their dances; they’re clearly both great dance partners as well as life partners.
The Baker Boys Band were fantastic and easily got the guests up and out of their seats to dance. Music, laughter and great conversation filled the room; it was clear everyone was having a great time celebrating the union of Jessica and Aaron.
I especially loved the photographs taken at sunset by the gardens while the sun poured in through the trees. There was so much love beaming from the couple as they gazed into each other’s eyes. I wish this wonderful couple a lifetime of happiness. For more recounts of memorable weddings I’ve photographed, click here.
